About the Workshop
A weekend of targeted strengthening practices to bring lift to your arm balances, stability to your inversions and ease to your backbends. 

This intensive workshop involves a special combination of Myofascial Release (MFR) therapy combined with strengtheningtraining using various props.
Come get strong and also learn how to let go.

The balance of the two make for good yoga both on and off the mat.

About Lars
Lars first sought out yoga back in his home country of Canada in 1998, as a way to help recover from a back injury and deal with a particularly stressful time in life. After a few weeks of classes, he felt a visceral knowing that yoga just made sense. Creativity began to flow easier in his design career and the things that once stressed him seemed much easier to deal with. The circumstances in life didn't change, but he felt that somehow practising yoga helped transform his attitude to life. He says, it felt like magic and gives thanks to the focus and discipline of the Ashtanga practice.

As he continued to practise over the years, his curiosity and interest in anatomy and the philosophical side of yoga grew. He joked about becoming a yoga geek. He began taking workshops and discovering other methods of Hatha yoga and was intrigued by the science of alignment and art of sequencing. Lars is an integrator by nature and from the Ashtanga lineage, he is strongly influenced by the writings and teachings of both Richard Freeman and Paul Dallaghan. From the alignment-based lineage of Iyengar, he is also influenced by the teachings and writings of Doug Keller who is a humble wizard of anatomy and alignment as each body is unique. 

In 2012, he met Basia Going and discovered the energetic benefits of myofascial release therapy. These teachers inspired him and because of them, Lars is forever committed to being a student. Lars humbly gives gratitude to all his teachers, both formal and informal, who have shared their knowledge, inspired him and showed him that there is much much more to yoga than poses on the mat.

Lars' motto is: focus yes, even discipline, but serious is not required. His light-hearted style of teaching invites you to explore poses with curiosity and to go deeper into feeling a posture. He has a way of making the easy postures challenging and the challenging postures easier, step by step, using techniques learned in the so called 'easy' postures. Breath, focus and meditation are the key elements folded into an ashtanga/flow class; yin/meditation; a detailed alignment hatha class; or, a private lesson to address imbalances or overcome the bottleneck in one's practice. He lives in Taipei and loves cycling, mountains, oceans, and healthy, delicious food.
